The shuttle descended from the skies, soon finding it's landing near the colony's warehouses - a series of buildings standing neatly against each other, forming multiple parallel lines. There, a small group of people was already waiting for them, watching the shuttle's every move as it touched the ground and began to open it's doors. (edited)

Ens. Edward Markus | SCI BOT 18-Jul-26 02:06 PM
Eddie stepped out of the shuttle and stretched a little, the shuttles were already cramped enough why did the entire away team land in just the one. He'd have brought two at least but he wasn't the boss.
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Groznin | CMD BOT 18-Jul-26 02:21 PM
Groznin exited the shuttle and stood near the door in preparation for the supplies to be brought out and brought to the colonists. He smiled to the awaiting group of people just a bit bigger than was normal for typical humanoids, a gesture he grew up seeing as friendly but could be a little off putting to those unfamiliar with Denobulans.
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Beatriz Garcia Morais | ENG BOT 18-Jul-26 02:37 PM
Garcia stepped out immediately noticing the group. There was absolutely no reason to assume any hostility, this had all been accorded previously and those people most likely belonged to two categories: either representatives from the community or people curious about the outsiders. The outsiders being her and her crew mates. She smiled softly but did not offer any greetings herself. One, she was no where close to a mission leader, and two, she was no diplomat and had no knowledge of how these people greeted each other. She looked over to Maiek, since he was their civilian specialist, curious herself about how this would all go.

Stepping out from the shuttle doors, Ed’s eyes scanned the horizon, following closely behind Garcia.

Kirio surveyed the situation with caution at first as they exited, though upon spotting the people, offered a polite smile and wave. Best to begin unloading things, maybe, then they'd be told where to put it later?.. hmm.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Nevada Bein-Amié | MED BOT 18-Jul-26 03:23 PM
Nevada stepped off of the shuttle and her brain immediately shifted into working mode. She began visually assessing the group of people for signs of sickness and injury. Any thoughts of greeting or acknowledging the villagers deserted her mind as she became absorbed in her self-assigned task. Oops.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Paco Umali | SCI BOT 18-Jul-26 03:27 PM
Paco stepped out of the shuttle shortly after the others, taking a deep breath as he looked around the area. He didn't scan for anything just yet. If this were a routine supply run for the colonists, they would have sent someone to rendezvous with them.
Avatar
Maiek tr'Shen | NPC BOT 18-Jul-26 04:06 PM
At some point, he stepped out of the shuttle as well, holding the front part of his robes to keep them smooth. If someone stood close enough to him, they could hear something jingling and clanging underneath them. "We're all good to go?" he inquired from the rest of the people, eyebrows furrowed.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Tavek tr’Lliehn | ENG BOT 18-Jul-26 04:17 PM
Tavek followed close behind Garcia and Ed. He wanted to get a look around, but he also didn’t want to seem like he was staring at anyone, and the weird jingling sound he was hearing from Maiek’s direction was seriously creeping him out. Still, he gave a polite smile and wave to the assembled group of people.
Avatar
Cdr. Evoras Lhai'Ivek | SCI BOT 18-Jul-26 04:24 PM
Evoras only halted for a moment to scan the surroundings and the group of people waiting for them, before she made her way over to them. For a lack of knowledge of any traditional greetings commonly used here she resorted to what she was familiar with, optimistic that her intentions would be clear regardless. She raised her hand in greeting. "We come to serve." It was, she thought, a truthful greeting in this context. After a moment she let her hand fall to her side again and gave them a nod. "I am Commander Lhai'Ivek. Your supplies are ready to be moved at your notice."
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Twelve of Twenty | MED BOT 18-Jul-26 04:27 PM
Twelve headed out of the shuttle with the rest of the group. Med pack slung secure over one shoulder, Twelve stopped and nodded in greeting to the villagers as she quickly visually checked each of the group she managed to glimpse for injuries or anything that might have needed attention. Not that she expected that there'd be anything. She just visually checked anyway.
Avatar
Narrator BOT 18-Jul-26 04:36 PM
Nothing seemed off on the scans. The people, as soon as Evoras addressed them, perked up - all rather young, and of a variety of species. One of the women standing there got gently elbowed by her peer, and with a sheepish little sound she stepped out: "Welcome to Fatum I," she offered the group a polite nod. Clearly she's not used to doing this, but nevertheless she continued, "We have prepared a warehouse for the supplies, I'll be able to point you towards it. We have, um, other matters you could attend to, if that is okay... usually Starfleet offers to help us out with repairs and such."
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Beatriz Garcia Morais | ENG BOT 18-Jul-26 04:39 PM
She peaked up at the word “repairs”. Oh yes absolutely they could help with those as well! She would not be so impolite to answer for the Commander though, but she did offer an even brighter smile to the ones that approached them. “Keep smart guys, seems we’re gonna have some side quests!” She whispered softly to Ed and Tavek behind her.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Edgar Castelo | ENG BOT 18-Jul-26 04:50 PM
Hey, fixing stuff he could do! “Hell yeah. This’ll be easy,” He nodded, folding his arms in front of himself.
Avatar
Lt. JG. Tavek tr’Lliehn | ENG BOT 18-Jul-26 04:59 PM
The second he heard the word repairs, his eyes lit up. Finally, something he was good at! “Agreed. This’ll be fun.” What was more fun than a good couple repairs to do on an away mission, right?
Avatar
Cdr. Evoras Lhai'Ivek | SCI BOT 18-Jul-26 05:03 PM
Evoras didn’t raise her eyebrow at the young woman in an attempt not to make her nervous, instead she simply nodded again. “Thank you for the welcome. We will do our best to see to whatever repairs you need. There’s also some medical personnel. Do you have anything time sensitive you would like to see done immediately before we start unloading the supplies?” In truth she would prefer the visit to unravel somewhat time efficiently, but so long as the colonists’ requests weren’t entirely unreasonable she was more than willing to let them choose the pace and order in which things were done.
Avatar
Narrator BOT 18-Jul-26 05:37 PM
"Alright," she seemed to ease up somewhat, seeing Evoras' calm attitude. Her black eyes - Betazoid? - briefly flickered between all of the group, before returning back to her, "Honestly, the timing of your arrival could've not been better. We have... well, we have bad weather seasons sometimes! One just ended, and while nothing major has happened, there's just a lot of annoying little task that have piled up..." One of her companions broke their stony expression and snorted behind her, making the talkative one throw an exasperated glance back at them: "It's true! Anyways, I've been told that we have some minor issues with a couple of the power generators, so that would need a look at. In the medical center, there are concerns about supplies after the short power outage that we've had, and they're working on a better system... And there are some smaller wears and tears in the town itself, from the winds and such. Sorry, I might be talking a tad too much and quickly, uhm-- feel free to ask me questions."
Avatar
Lt. JG. Dmitri Durovsky | MED BOT 18-Jul-26 05:48 PM
"What kinds of supplies? Bandages, antibiotics, osteoregenerators...? Any injuries from the 'winds and such'?" Some old lady might have fallen and broken her hip!
Avatar
Lt. Maggie Roode | SCI BOT 18-Jul-26 05:49 PM
She looked to the companion with a warm smile as she stood by Evoras. “Your good! We’re here to help, so knowing things only helps us!” She said, trying to reassure them. She could empathize with thinking yourself too much.

Lt. JG. Edgar Castelo | ENG BOT 18-Jul-26 05:49 PM
Ooh, generators! The ever-broken heart of every away mission. And, fortunately, one of his favourite things to fix. He and the engineers could have a ball just repairing and helping out, and be back soon enough to not miss Vida’s lunch special.

Lt. Cdr. Twelve of Twenty | MED BOT 18-Jul-26 05:54 PM
Twelve twitched and perked up at the discussion of medical supply related matters. As the question was asked by the lieutenant Junior grade about what was needed by the medical people, Twelve certainly paid attention!

Rami Fobosse | NPC BOT 18-Jul-26 06:00 PM
"... Did I forget to introduce myself?" oh dear! Despite the reddening of her cheeks, she blurted out a laugh, "Sorry, sorry, this is my first time greeting an away team. You can call me Rami! Rami Fobosse." Her attention was briefly taken by Maiek, dark eyes alight with curiosity and, perhaps, even happiness: "Oh, that is so lovely to hear! A priest, perhaps? I hope I won't offend you all, but it is nice to see someone unaffiliated with the Federation, for once..." As for the officer's question... she hummed, looking at Dmitri and nodding to confirm his guesses: "How do I say this in one word... everything that needs to be fridged? Does that make sense? I hope it makes sense. As for the injuries, well... there are some minor scraps from people working on the aftermath. We've gotten quite good at avoiding any tragedies when the weather chooses to be rough, but as a result things that protect us need some fixing. Which is fine, really, but any help will be appreciated nonetheless."

She gave a quick nod to Rami (who seemed quite nice!). “It’s nice to meet you.” She said softly before allowing her fellows to ask questions.

Lt. JG. Dmitri Durovsky | MED BOT 18-Jul-26 06:09 PM
He nodded. There were several kinds of medications that needed to fridged, but those were usually specialty medications. Most basic first aid stuff was pretty shelf-stable. It had to be, for emergencies exactly like this. "Can you direct me toward anyone who needs help? Well, me and any other medical personnel here." He looked around to see if there were any.

PO. Shocei | ENG BOT 18-Jul-26 06:15 PM
Shocei perked up at the mention of repairs like a dog at the mention of cheese. That was right up her alley, and while she would’ve enjoyed doing anything while taking in the sights of this strange new world, it was nice to feel useful. With her toolkit in hand, she waited to be directed to the generators.

Avatar
Rami Fobosse | NPC BOT 18-Jul-26 06:42 PM
"Okay, that is done..." she nodded to herself, then looking to the side to meet Kirio's gaze. "I'll leave you with the rest of our meeting crew, then, and take the priest to talk with the head of the town, if no one minds."

Lt. Cdr. Groznin | CMD BOT 18-Jul-26 07:38 PM
Groznin looked around, he had tried to avoid Dmitri and the medical team, but the man had been able to get in a few words. Groznin absolutely did not want to talk later, he wanted to avoid him at all costs. Now he found himself rather useless, he wasn’t a doctor or an engineer. He turned to Rami in hopes that one of the civilians would have a task he could complete. “I am an away team coordinator, so I’m good at logistics.” They probably had their own logistics people, stupid thing to say. The small colony and the unexpected familiar face brought back memories of a place he hadn’t given much thought to in years. “Or I can do any odd job that doesn’t need a specialist.”

Maiek tr'Shen | NPC BOT 18-Jul-26 07:46 PM
Hearing Groznin talk, Maiek turned to Rami: "Perhaps he could come along? I don't mind the audience."

Rami Fobosse | NPC BOT 18-Jul-26 07:46 PM
The Betazoid suddenly cringed, her tone apologetic: "N-no, sorry, I don't think the heads will enjoy that... However... sorting out the warehouse, or looking over the minor repairs in the town, could be good!.. God knows we're currently all over the place, heh."
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Groznin | CMD BOT 18-Jul-26 08:05 PM
Groznin considered it, interested in what “the heads” meant. Despite being almost 50, curiosities away missions ran into still fascinated him. “Mr. tr’Shen has been recruited by Starfleet, an officer really should be with him at all times.” He glanced between Rami, Maiek, and Kirio the security officer.

Lt. JG. Kirio Mizax | SEC BOT 18-Jul-26 08:12 PM
Oh. That's the 'that's-an-order-detective' voice. Okay. "Oh, um.." Kirio put down the box they were holding, wiping their hands on their uniform. "Right. I'd be more comfortable one of us was close by, miss— nothing against you, of course, just to ensure the safety of our guest." They smiled apologetically. (edited)

Maiek tr'Shen | NPC BOT 18-Jul-26 08:20 PM
He let out a chuckle, a wheezy little thing, before looking at Rami again: "Don't take it personally. I'm the weak link in their group, so they're keeping me extra secure. But we won't let our dashing security officer take a peek at whatever conversation is going to happen, okay? We'll park them somewhere nice for the time being."

“You get this Kirio.” She said, giving encouragement to the security officer who had saved her from getting momnapped for this surely awkward gig.

Kirio wanted to retort that they weren't a pet that could be tied outside on a post, but they bit their tongue, instead nodding. Their cheeks were not slightly darker with a light flush, by the way. Nope. "That's fine by me. Lead the way," and, turning to the group, "See you all soon, I suppose."

Cdr. Evoras Lhai'Ivek | SCI BOT 18-Jul-26 08:27 PM
She did not know Maiek well enough to tell him any of the things she might have said to one of her scientist, like to be careful or that she much preferred the best possible outcome of this situation, whatever that may be, instead she gave him and then Kirio too, for good measure, a nod. Perhaps she was doing that a touch too frequently. "The rest of us will take care of the warehouse and the repairs, perhaps we could start by unloading?"
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Groznin | CMD BOT 18-Jul-26 08:30 PM
Groznin nodded satisfied with a security escort, even if it was a detective. “Yes, I can assist with the unloading.”

"Fine by me, then" she offered Evoras a small smile, then. "Oh-kay-y-y-y, follow me..."

"And people that will go to the street repairs, follow me," they were Still Here. And with that, another small bit of the party left, leaving only the people responsible for the warehouses. They would be lead to a second-nearest one, which was utterly empty of any boxes or such. Perfect for organizing!

"We can go through it real quick, before we begin unloading it all," their tour guide nodded, gesturing for the officers to follow them into the warehouse. All along the walls, were drawn white lines, sectioning the available space into smaller cubicles, with glowy tabloids up above to probably showcase what each section was holding. On the floor of the warehouse, a variety of circles were drawn, barely visible for they were of a similar color to the chosen tile. They clearly did not adhere to the aforementioned sectioning, and looked a bit... odd.

“That sounds reasonable,” Groznin stated, taking out his PADD again to go over what exactly the supplies were. He took note of the circles on the ground, but did not comment on them. They didn’t seem to match any sectioning system he was aware of, but he wasn’t very familiar with sectioning systems.

Maggie was still here helping out. “If you don’t mind me asking, what do the circles represent?” She said as she looked at them while working.

Groznin took them at face value, they seemed nice and he had no idea what anyone was doing when it came to decorating. He ignored it. “Would you like to see my PADD, see what we’ve brought?” Groznin offered, holding out his PADD with the correct page pulled up to the tour guide. (edited)

"Sure, sure..." the thin layer of ice broke as quickly as it arrived, and their guide - another Betazoid - carefully held the PADD in their hands, scrolling through the list, letting out an occasional satisfied hum. "Ah, these are great. A lot of sturdy material to reinforce some of our walls..."
Avatar
Lt. Cdr. Groznin | CMD BOT 19-Jul-26 06:53 PM
Why did they need to reinforce their walls? Groznin didn’t know, nor did he particularly care. He was sure there were many reasons none of them suspicious at all. “I’m glad you’re pleased with them, shall we start unloading then?” He briefly considered checking in with the other teams seeing as everyone had split up, but now didn’t seem like the right time.

"Yeah, let's see--" they turned around, walking a bit deeper into the warehouse, until... "We can start here, this whole section is where items 1-10 are going. They are the lightest things too, so it's good to have space for heavy duty boxes at the front. That's how I usually get things done here."

Lt. Cdr. Groznin | CMD BOT 19-Jul-26 08:22 PM
Groznin nodded, letting the betazoid take the lead here. It was his colony after all and he knew how members of small colonies could be when Starfleet showed up to help. “Sounds good.”

Cue the working montage... Okay, not really. But the light boxes, with the use of tools and some good coordination, were quickly stacked in their rightful places, like a particularly satisfying set of 3D tetris. Except these ones did not disappear, thankfully. With that, the team could steadily move through the whole warehouse, filling it up... Groznin and CO could opt for small talk, or just surf through it in (somewhat?..) comfortable silence.

"Hmm... peace? Is that a good answer?" the Betazoid replied, meanwhile dutifully going through the list. "We all come from a variety of backgrounds... I can't tell you much, I wasn't there from the beginning, but that's what I've been taught by my parents. Fatum, the name of the planet, means "faith". It is our home, and we love it unconditionally, and it loves us in return, with fertile lands and peaceful flora and fauna. It also lets us practice what we preach, but, eh... that's a bit personal, sorry. "

Lt. Cdr. Groznin | CMD BOT 19-Jul-26 09:58 PM
Groznin couldn’t agree, couldn’t you make a nice little community on a planet closer to civilization? It wasn’t like they were using the whole planet to practice their faith, it was one town. Plenty of fertile land that gives back in the galaxy. “Yes, good answer.” He said instead.
